Light Painting/Movement ..

These are photographs that progress from my light movement shoots. I like how the photographer Michael Bosanko works with light painting, and wanted to base my project on ideas from his work. I researched an artist called Michael Alfonso, who paints pictures with light including angel wings; this inspired me to progress the technique.
The concept in these photographs was to show light in an unusual way. I liked how angel wings could give a model a unique personality through a photo, and people would see that using these wings could do this to anyone. Using the mirror gives the wings a three-dimensional effect, making the photo more realistic and aesthetically appealing.

Lighting/Movement

For these photos I firstly looked at light, using Lynn Silverman as my research artist. I then experimented further with light movement, using Michael Bosanko's work as research.

I experimented with different ways of challenging convention in photography - here I was capturing motion in a still image.  I wanted to show how a simple object like light can become the main focus of an image, and be seen in an interesting and unusual way.

Typical British Society... People

This is for my British Society project, I looked at stereotypical British events, like a football match, car boot sales, and horse racing. I wanted to show the people that attend these events, and by capturing their expressions I wanted show their personality and enthusiasm for the occasion.

Texture

I looked at the work of Mimo Rotella before taking this image, concentrating on the texture of the image. I used this angle and setting so I could depict the feel and touch of the paper through a photograph.

Grids/Lines

I have taken these images for an urban project, looking at The Boyle Family as my research artists.

I was inspired by the ability to make anything look beautiful in a photograph - the close-up reveals the texture and subtle colours of the scene.
